Lindsay and the Nebraska Cancer Coalition at Husker Harvest Days

At Lindsay, we strive to help make our customers’ work and lives easier, safer, and more fulfilling. In addition to innovating state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing dependable products, we proudly support organizations engaged in community enhancement, like the Nebraska Cancer Coalition (NC2). During the state’s 2025 Husker Harvest Days, NC2 hosted a booth designed to equip farmers, ranchers, and rural community members with valuable resources to prevent and detect cancers.

NC2’s presence at Husker Harvest Days, a large farm show held near Grand Island, NE, was geared toward raising awareness about cancer prevention and the importance of regular screenings among agricultural professionals and rural community members who often face barriers to health care access and may not prioritize regular doctor visits.

“NC2’s mission to strengthen cancer prevention, detection, and quality of life for all Nebraskans aligns perfectly with Lindsay’s mission of enhancing the quality of life for people,” said Brett Coburn, Lindsay’s Chief Accounting Officer, who served on NC2’s Board of Directors.  “I’m extremely proud of Lindsay’s support of NC2’s efforts at Husker Harvest Days, as it helps NC2 make a significant impact in the communities where many of Lindsay’s customers and employees live and work.”

NC2 shared valuable information about various cancers and performed more than 1,000 blood pressure checks and nearly 450 skin cancer screenings to attendees from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and other Midwestern states. During last year’s Husker Harvest Days, NC2 identified a farmer’s skin cancer, allowing him to seek treatment early. He later told the organization, “It saved my life.” Nearly one-third of non-melanoma skin cancer deaths are caused by UV radiation exposure from working outside, so education on the importance of early detection and sun protection to reduce risk were critical topics at the show.

"The Nebraska Cancer Coalition’s initiatives at Husker Harvest Days were significantly supported by Lindsay, whose contributions played a crucial role in enabling these efforts. Individuals and families benefited in numerous ways, some of which may not be immediately apparent, but are essential for their health and well-being,” said Laura Schabloske, Executive Director of the Nebraska Cancer Coalition.

“The collaboration between NC2 and Lindsay exemplified the importance of community partnerships in advancing cancer screening and prevention education in rural and agricultural areas where access to health care resources can be limited. Through these efforts, NC2 worked toward reducing cancer disparities and promoting early detection through screening and education, ultimately aiming to improve health outcomes for farm and ranch families."

Supporting strong communities goes beyond the field. Lindsay is proud to partner with organizations like the Nebraska Cancer Coalition that help bring vital health education and screening resources directly to rural areas. Lindsay encourages growers and rural community members to take advantage of available screening resources and prioritize early detection when possible.
