Lindsay Launches TAU-M Wide™ 72” Crash Cushion
Advanced Protection for Wider Roadside Hazards
OMAHA, NE — 12/16/2025 — Lindsay announces the release of the TAU-M Wide, a groundbreaking crash cushion engineered to deliver superior protection for hazards up to 72 inches wide. Tested to MASH Test Level 3, this redirective, non-gating system sets a new standard in roadside safety by combining innovation, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
At just 20 feet (6.1 meters) in length, TAU-M Wide is the shortest freestanding crash cushion designed for the widest hazards, eliminating the need for transitions or costly hazard modifications. Its partially reusable design and easy-to-replace energy-absorbing cartridges make it a cost-effective solution for transportation agencies seeking durability and efficiency.
Built on the proven TAU-M platform, the system incorporates two tension cables, telescoping thrie-beam panels, identical energy-absorbing cartridges, and deflection limiters to safely absorb kinetic energy and redirect impacting vehicles. Standard profile thrie-beam panels ensure simple transitions, while the robust foundation requirements—6 inches of reinforced concrete or 8 inches of non-reinforced concrete—provide stability and performance.
