Concept Pivot, Irrigation Innovations to be Displayed at Husker Harvest Days

Lindsay will showcase its latest irrigation innovations, including a futuristic concept pivot, at Husker Harvest Days this week in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Concept Pivot

Similar to concept cars at auto shows, Lindsay will display a concept pivot with features including self-adjusting height to combat high winds or uneven terrain and a three-leg pivot point for faster and easier installation.

The concept will demonstrate "how we’re flexing our creative muscles with out-of-the-box thinking,” said Wade Sikkink, Lindsay's innovation lead and Global Director of Product Management. “The concept pivot is the result of several months of development between Lindsay product management and engineering teams.

On deciding to show the concept pivot at Husker Harvest Days, Lindsay’s marketing director, Emily Hardie said, “the concept pivot has a really unique look, just like concept cars you might see at an auto show. We think it will turn heads and we’re looking forward to hearing growers’ reactions to it.”

Next-Generation Irrigation Technology

Gustavo Oberto, Lindsay’s President of Irrigation, will discuss next-generation equipment and precision ag technologies during a panel discussion Tuesday as part of the Nebraska Ag Technology Summit hosted by Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts. The summit will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sentinel Pavilion, lot 549.

In addition, Husker Harvest Days attendees will have the chance to learn firsthand about Lindsay's smart pivot, which provides 24/7 access to real-time, 360-degree crop health and operational data throughout the growing season.

Through Zimmatic™ machine health and FieldNET™ advanced agronomics, the smart pivot is designed to support healthier crops and more sustainable farming practices while reducing risk and operational downtime.

Show-goers can also learn more about – and demo – the new, highly intuitive beta FieldNET user interface (UI), which was announced just prior to this year’s Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois.

Current North American FieldNET customers can visit lindsay.com/betasignup for details and apply to be a beta user for the new UI. Lindsay will incorporate beta user feedback to further build and enhance the UI.

Husker Harvest Days, the largest totally irrigated working farm show in the world, hosts hundreds of exhibitors displaying farm equipment, seed and crop protection products and other farm services.

Check out the concept pivot, the smart pivot and the new beta FieldNET UI at booth 410 at Husker Harvest Days, September 14–16, in Grand Island, Nebraska.
