Dealer Spotlight – Plymouth Irrigation

For the team at Plymouth Irrigation, giving back to the community has always been a priority.

“We live in a small community where everyone pitches in to support our farmers, businesses and other groups,” said Matt Heidemann, co-owner of Plymouth Irrigation. “It’s important for us to be part of that – to give back whenever we can.”

In 2014, the dealership purchased a custom, enclosed 6 x 10 trailer. Wrapped in Zimmatic branding, it has become a fixture at parades, town functions and customer meetings.

“It’s fully equipped with a TV, recorder, microwave, refrigerator, generator, satellite and grill,” he said. “We love taking it out in the community – especially to elevators during harvest, when we’re able to grill for those who are working around the clock to get the crops out of their fields. It’s our way to thank our customers and show that all of us at Plymouth Irrigation really care about our community.”

Opened in 2003, the dealership’s six employees work with growers across southeast Nebraska and northeast Kansas. They believe their outstanding customer service sets them apart from other dealers in the area.

“Farmers have huge investments in their crops and depend on us for timely repairs and parts to keep their yields optimized,” Heidemann said. “We’re tied in with Plymouth Electric, so we can pull repair personnel from them during the summer months, as several are trained in pivot repair. That makes us the fastest service team in the area.”

As for the future of agriculture in his community, Heidemann said that, despite today’s economic challenges, it’s bright.

“We’re educating our customers about FieldNET®FieldNET Advisor® and other tools that will help them be more efficient,” Heidemann said. “Agriculture will always have a large impact on Plymouth. Farms will continue to grow in size and farmers will continue to be very important in the community – donating time to projects, supporting businesses, staffing the fire department and keeping up our parks and ball fields. We’re proud to work alongside them.”
