Lindsay’s FieldNET® Technology Receives National Recognition for Innovative Design
New FieldNET Mobile App Earns 2019 AE50 Award
(OMAHA, Neb.) – November 2018 — Lindsay Corporation (NYSE: LNN), a leading global manufacturer and distributor of irrigation and infrastructure equipment and technology, announced that its new FieldNET mobile app, released earlier this year, has been selected as an AE50 award winner for 2019. Presented by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), the award recognizes the year’s most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agriculture industries.
“It’s always a great honor to be recognized with an AE50 award because it emphasizes our keen focus on being the innovation leader in the irrigation technology market,” said Reece Andrews, product manager of FieldNET and Zimmatic Controls at Lindsay Corporation. “With the new, improved FieldNET mobile app, we’re continuing to deliver on our commitment to provide growers with advanced tools to help optimize their operations and maximize their yields.”
Launched in 2007 and now available in over 50 countries, FieldNET technology offers remote monitoring and control capabilities, integrating a grower’s irrigation tools and systems. The platform, which is compatible with most electric pivot brands, delivers real-time information, so growers can see exactly what their systems are doing and control them quickly and easily from a smartphone, tablet or computer. FieldNET is also the enabling platform that supports the industry’s first, fully integrated, daily irrigation recommendation and scheduling tool, FieldNET Advisor®, which has been shown to deliver 17% water and energy savings, 3% increase in yield and $35/acre increase in profit.
The new app delivers many new features and enhancements to FieldNET customers. “It has an extremely intuitive user interface, offering an enhanced level of mobility and precision that growers won’t find with other remote irrigation management systems,” Andrews said. “We’ve incorporated additional precision variable rate irrigation (VRI) functionality, top-of-the-line end gun control, and the ability to enable/disable auto-restart and auto-reverse. Customers also now have the ability to check soil water depletion and irrigation recommendations from FieldNET Advisor in the app, providing an added level of convenience and mobility,” Andrews said. He also explained FieldNET and the new mobile app helps growers stay informed and “make operational adjustments in real time – reducing trips to the field, saving time, money, water, energy, chemicals, labor and wear and tear on vehicles.”
The AE50 Awards will be presented at the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference held in Louisville, Kentucky, from February 11 – February 13, 2019.
